TO LIVE DOESN'T MEAN YOU'RE ALIVE

This is part 1 of 2 of my yearly recap. Well, what I can say... this year has been glorious for me! Particularly because it's pretty much my last year of college (only 3 more classes next semester). Also being featured on all of H&M websites internationally on the Style Guide monthly pick, and last but not least, meeting up with my fellow blogger friends.

It's funny, but I've grown used to meeting friends from online, and somehow most of my closest friends are from online. I guess like Vanessa said, there is an enigma about the digital world and meeting people online that can be dangerous and risky, robotic and cold, but that's where we humans come in to build relationships and develop a genuine connection to turn something cold and mechanic into something organic and communicable. Use it to your advantage rather than let it use you.

And this year, I've grown a lot, artistically, as well as a person. I realized much more about life, and how to present myself, from my ideas, the way I talk about my work, the way I dress, it all has to line up with each other. You cannot praise your work if it doesn't live up to what you say, so everything has to go hand in hand. I try hard everyday to be the best that I can be, which means PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE! Nothing happens overnight. Patience and perseverance, my friend.

I highlighted what happened in my year through these 25 pictures, let them load and read on the full stories... enjoy, and stay inspired!

LOVE YOURSELF!

I could wish you a 'happy holidays' but to me, everyday is a holiday, everyday is a celebration!!! In art history, I study that sometimes it's not about BEING, but rather it's about BECOMING. So here's to a new year ahead, and to becoming something great!

CHEERS!

  1. I don't really use blogger anymore that's why I'm posting anonymous, but this is Venshard...if you remember me or my name at all. I used to comment on your shit a lot earlier this year.
But anyways,um, I just thought of you and I remembered your url oddly enough and I just want to say that I respect your art and what you do.
It's so great in a way for me to have gotten caught up and then come back to your blog and see that you're still pursuing your passions. Very cool.
