SAVAGE BEAUTY

I meant to blogged this earlier. But as we all know Lee Alexander McQueen passed away last February, and it is a great lost because he was such a talented man. A visionary. Fashion Designer, and Artist. sigh. I've been a fan since 2006, but my favorite was Spring AND Fall 2009 where he dedicated to both of his good friends that have passed away: Isabella Blow and Leigh Bowery.

I cried in class when I found out he died that morning last Feb. His legacy will live on forever, and the very latest proof is this ground-breaking exhibition at the MET, it was only supposed to open from May til early July, but extended all the way to 1st week of August because everyone was pouring in to see it. I saw it 3 times. The last time was crazy because it was during the last week... literally there were herds of people packed into the exhibition, lines wrapped around OUTSIDE on the streets, and inside the whole entire museum!

We couldn't take pictures but I snapped a few photos with my iPhone, sorry for the low quality, but trust me when I say the whole show was breathtaking, and reading his quotes and seeing his clothes in real life made me cry, especially the Plato's Atlantis collection and all the intricate details and his yearning to express and extreme romantic nature. What a mad genius, but there is a method to his madness. He truly is the Edgar Allan Poe of fashion.

me with no brows, mole, and a button up shirt, ready for the exhibition. Amen Fashion †

You will never fall apart Alexander,
you're still in our hearts!
Never let you fall apart...
together, we'll dance in the dark!
