NICHOLAS

5.17.14

Hello. Hello. Hello! This is the first of 2 posts that I'm curating. My friends from San Francisco came to visit this past weekend. We had a great time going on nonstop adventures around the city. Took photos. Danced. Ate. Laughed... a lot. Drank. Laughed some more. But one of the memorial events would be this "short film" that I worked on with my 2 friends, Jeff is an amazing up and coming hairstylist, and Nicholas is a handsome artist in his own rights.

I had a vision of filming Nick after Jeff gives him a haircut. I don't want to explain too much, but the (super) short film is about rebirth, juxtapositions, and nostalgia through childhood treats. To be an adult with a kid tendencies. The youth. The idea.

I also designed the posters too, hope you love!

[ BEHIND THE SCENES ]

I'm really happy when I get to collaborate with my friends. We live in such an amazing time. Technology has democratized self-expression! Instead of gossiping, let's nourish each other with encouragement. Let's come to come together and utilize technology to showcase our talents!

Jeff, Nick, myself, Fabio, Alex

  1. I saw your film with the very themes you mentioned, but my interpretation feels so ... jaded. The protagonist is divided because they view adulthood as having a clear demarcation from youth. They are essentially preparing to make the cross over, in mourning but savoring those final specks before they become wholly transformed. So many suggestive elements. In reality, I'm like "Buck maturity and 'acting your age'," so I can't tell if that is contradictory or in keeping with how I viewed the film, lol. Uggghhh, I really love this yet it's very unsettling. Good thing it's a compact video or I'd probably be bawling. Quality piece, you.
