HAPPINESS LIES IN YOUR OWN HANDS

Santogold - L.E.S. Artistes

Santogold is the shit!!! I LOVE HER!!!!

Semester's done. Exams are next week, and then officially summer vacation!

This semester, I've grown a lot artistically, I feel a sense of self when I'm in the process of making an art piece. It feels nice. I feel invincible when I'm creating something. Especially for Print-making class, because I'm such a neat freak when it comes to art.. I want everything to be perfect or at least presentable.

But in print-making class, there is no guarantee all the prints will come out as planned so from then on I've learned to not be so hard on myself. Let it go, and have fun.

Creating art makes me happy. Now I know where I can find happiness.

like Madonna says:

"Happiness lies in your own hands,
it took me much too long to understand..."

metaphorically and literally, for me personally. ;)

HERE'S A FEW OF MY FAVES FROM FIGURE DRAWING CLASS:
it's not all that since I didn't have enough time to finish, these all are quick exercises...

the last model for our class, he was tall and thin, has long legs and arms, which made him more flexible.

30 minutes portrait. As you can see I need more time to add more details.

close up of portrait. I love the rawness and texture of the conte and charcoal.

this is Michelle, our class' favorite plus-size model! she is awesome!

2 minutes, warm-up sketch.

23 minutes drawing. Negative style. Rub the charcoal on paper, then use eraser to draw the model. Go back in later to add dark lines.

this model has a buzz short haircut. BUT I decided to draw him with long wavy hair, ehehe... I want to make him more beautiful, hehe!

closer! this was a 25 minutes pose.

2 minutes warm-up, using the side of Conte to draw.
I LOVE IT so much. his stance is so elegant and moving.
My teacher said flow should be my middle name. hahaha! I love to use organic lines.

I'm cleaning up artwork from previous semesters.
