I've been thinking lately about how we put so much energy into finding love; consciously or subconsciously. What is so important about finding love and what do we do once we find it? My friends were discussing about the high of being in love is almost the same high as being on drugs, and the withdrawals for both are just as bad. Yet we continue to look and search for someone to help us heal ourselves; I'm also a victim of this contradictive poignant mindset—contradictive in the sense that we don't really need someone to heal us, we are capable of healing ourselves.
In my case, living far from my family the first instinct was to find someone to build something meaningful with that I could call home—my own little nest; a sense of belonging, you know? But is this the right time for such thoughts? I'm not sure. However, I think this could be possible with a reciprocation of intimacy and a bit of time investment. Intimacy is really hard to maintain but I believe the first step is to share—sharing creates intimacy.
