TODAY IS THE YOUNGEST WE WILL EVER BE

This year is rapidly coming to an end (funny how it only becomes faster when we start noticing) and naturally as a creative person, I like reflecting and re-evaluating on how I've lived up to till now… and keep telling myself that today is the youngest I will ever be. Which means from now on… everything in my life should be effortless and adventurous. No more wasting time ogling on how people are living their lives. If you want something, work extra hard to get it. Hard work pays off, I can tell you that much! Granted, I sometimes have low days where I feel unworthy and unattractive, but I think that's no way to go about anything. We should find the parts of ourselves that we love most, and accentuate on it. Even worrying about 2012 and the Apocalypse and all that nonsense, and look — we're still here, we're still living. People believe what they want to believe. So believe in yourself. Believe in the people you love! Believe that right now you are good, but in the future you'll be even better. Everything will end eventually, you know? I think it's important to know that it will end, so it'll help us initiate faster.

I've always questioned how it would feel like being 25, and without noticing, I've lived my way into the answer by turning 25 years old this October. For some reason I have a fascination about the age 25, I call it the age of reason — when you're in your quarter life mindset and start questioning and reasoning with those fundamental questions: Where am I going? And who am I going with? How will I leave my mark? As of now, I have no answers to those questions, and quite frankly I don't think I ever will. But who knows right? I might also live my way into the answers eventually.

Let's also talk about dressing well. As Tom Ford always noted: “You should put on the best version of yourself when you go out in the world, because that is a show of respect to the other people around you.” That's the reason why I make the effort to look presentable everyday. However, my aesthetic is becoming more streamlined in the sense that I want to reduce the clutter, I guess because of the excessiveness I've encountered living in New York. I just wonder sometimes: "Do people actually need all of those baggage that they carry?" Even when I think about it, I only wear 10 pieces of clothing out of all the stuff in my closet the past 5 months. Why? Because they are my necessities, they are the magic when form + function collide. Like a fitted suit, when I was young I hated wearing suits... I would think that that's what boring grown-ups do: wear irritating suits to wedding and church. Yuck! But now that I am older, nobody is forcing me to wear suits. I just became adaptive and learned the beauty of presenting myself in a respectful manner while wearing whatever makes me happy, of course!

I must re-quote this "People believe what they want to believe. So believe in yourself. Believe in the people you love! Believe that right now you are good, but in the future you'll be even better."
