This is part 4 of 4 from my mini-summer break in New York this past weekend. I met up with Raffaele and Peter to have an impromptu photoshoot at Chelsea Piers. It was a beautiful day, we finished less than 1 hour, because it was getting too hot.
We saw this new Blackberry ad painted on the wall, it said: "Closeness has nothing to do with distance." And Raff commented on how it was very telling of this trip. It can be interpreted in many ways, but the most obvious would be: you can be close to someone emotionally (spiritually), not physically, so if it's not physically close, then distance doesn't matter. Or let's say, it was very telling because this trip was my very first time meeting Raff and Peter, and we interacted as if we already hung out with each other before... and they live in Vancouver. You can still be close, even if you're from far away. So I decided to use that phrase as the name for this editorial, because it really embodies this trip.
P.S. doesn't Raff look like Marc Jacobs in some angles?! lol! craziness!

ReplyDeleteI have to say I love this shoot. Indeed, the first thing I thought of was Givenchy. I really appreciate the fact that you're an artist with such an own style and vision. The balance between real photography and your own design "photoshop-ish" adds is perfect. I also think your advise you post now and then is so useful and genuine, about feeling comfortable in your own skin etc. The last thing I want to say for now, is that I think you're a very special, talented and gifted person, and keep posting and keep on doing all of your unique projects!
