I bought this Candy Clutch this past November from the Maison Martin Margiela for H&M collection, because it reminds me of contemporary artist Jeff Koons' work. He's best known for taking banal and plain everyday objects and blow them up into big iridescence statues. But the best thing about this Margiela and H&M "collaboration" was that they didn't sacrifice any new designs but instead it was a re-edition of various items from past collections. This candy clutch was from MMM's Spring 2010 collection. In a sense, giving the mass a chance to own a piece of the past.

This also makes me think about that phrase "Hard Candy" — metaphorically it could be that 'tough tove' sentiment; like a bit of sweetness mix with the cold hard truth. Physically, it could be something like sugar sounds so delightful but is in fact so toxic for us if consumed too much. Oh, the paradox! Too much of a good thing is bad, no? Just because something is sweet doesn't mean it's good for you. Similar with a lot of things in life, I think we should live freely but consciously. History repeats itself, but gets better every time. A note to myself: LEARN FROM IT. Oops! ~~~ I'm getting a bit carried away, from talking about fashion to something fatal. Yikes.
